Delta airlines pulled together a team of runners, including CEO Ed Bastian, to not only complete the NYC Marathon but to also raise funds for Childhood Cancer research.
The funds are raised for the Rally Foundation for Childhood Cancer Research. The organization is one that Bastian has worked with previously and was inspired by one of their members named Grace. Read the full story about Grace on his fundraising page.
There was great support by the Delta community along the race route. Supporters could be seen wearing Delta T-Shirts and waving signs proclaiming “Run, Ed Run” and #DeltaProud.
“It was amazing to see so many members of our Delta family out today, running in the race and cheering on the sidelines,” Bastian said. “It was another great example of the Delta spirit and culture on display in the city where we’re the No. 1 airline.”
Congratulations to the team of almost 20 runners and a myriad of supporters for a race completed to help fund research for childhood cancer.
The donation page is still open for those who want to contribute to this effort.
