American Plans Nonstop Flight Connection Tulsa to LAX

American spokeswoman Linda Brock said local officials and the business community showed the route was needed. She said the airline had been working toward this service for a long time but had to consider gate options, passenger loads and feasibility to be able to carry and maintain a service. G.T. Bynum, mayor of Tulsa, said getting more direct flights out of Tulsa has been a priority, especially over the last two years.

He said the city has had a lot of success with smaller airlines opening up new markets like San Jose and Austin, but to get one of the major legacy carriers to open up a flight between Tulsa and Los Angeles “is a huge win for our community.”
