April 10, 2024
Elsa by Marcel Ravin
Unveiled in April 2024, Elsa at Monte-Carlo Beach offers a “Jardin Marin” concept by Michelin-starred chef Marcel Ravin. Inspired by the Mediterranean and its bounty, Ravin’s menu showcases fresh seafood and local ingredients. Imagine a balcony overlooking the sea, savoring creative dishes that celebrate the ocean’s harvest. The elegant, light-filled dining room evokes a chic 1930s vibe, transporting you to a luxurious Riviera dining experience.
Smakelijk! Monaco at Le Méridien
The luxury hotel in the Larvotto district recently welcomed an exciting new addition: Smakelijk! The name literally means “bon appétit” and is the perfect moniker for the warm and welcoming Belgian-style neo-brasserie with its traditional hearty fare. Experience a little taste of Belgium in the heart of the Principality!
Les Ambassadeurs
A century after the original venue closed its doors, Chef Christophe Cussac is re-opening Les Ambassadeurs at the Hôtel Métropole Monte-Carlo! The beautiful Belle Epoque establishment invites you to a convivial culinary experience like no other at “Les Ambassadeurs by Christophe Cussac”, a restaurant that pays tribute to the 1920s with modern and inventive Mediterranean-style cuisine. An exceptional moment to be shared in a warm and welcoming ambience created by Jacques Garcia.
Amazonico Monte-Carlo
Who wouldn’t want to enjoy one of the world’s most beautiful views while sipping on a cocktail? Located on the spacious rooftop of the newly transformed Café de Paris, Amazonico arrived in the Principality on April 4 with its Latino-Brazilian vibe and lush backdrops. The go-to nightspot popular in Madrid, London and Dubai opened on Place du Casino, at the heart of a unique setting and offering creative cuisine that mixes tropical and Latin American influences. And night owls will be able to add some extra spark to their nights in Monaco with a brand new club: the Speakeasy!
Café de Paris
Reopened in November of 2023, Café de Paris Monte-Carlo is a must-see after several years of renovations and a complete transformation. The iconic Monegasque location boasts an elegant indoor area, a cozy and stylish terrace offering views of the legendary Place du Casino, and a mezzanine. This famous establishment carries on the brasserie tradition and welcomes patrons for lunches in the sunshine, gourmet teas and dinners that continue late into the night.
Blue Bay Marcel Ravin
Down the famous hairpin bend on the Formula One circuit, the sea comes into view along the newly refurbished Larvotto beach, at the far end of which stands Blue Bay Marcel Ravin at the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort. Drawing on the inspiration that earned him two fabled Michelin stars, chef Marcel Ravin weaves his culinary alchemy to blend Caribbean and Mediterranean flavors to exquisite effect. Inside, the atmosphere is warm and lively thanks to the open kitchens, while the tables outside command superb sea views, but wherever you happen to be seated, you are set for a bold and original gastronomical journey.
Goodbye Stars’n’Bars, Hello Conscientiae
After three decades, the iconic American bar and restaurant closed its doors for the last time in January. It has now made way for a brand new concept called Conscientiae. With its green focus, it aims to be the first centre for environmental innovation in Monaco. The menu at Conscientiae will be created using local, seasonal produce. And after sampling the delicious, healthy fare, guests can head upstairs and discover a wellness area designed for gentle physical exercise to aid physical and mental recovery. Finally, there is the Conscientiae Members’ Club created by the owner Didier Rubiolo. The Club is a forum where members can come together with scientists and start-ups, to explore ways of improving our lives and caring for the environment. The venue is as spacious as ever, but now features an entirely redesigned layout and the sports-themed decor has been replaced by natural materials, including plants, light wood, and marble.
Bistro Coe
The Larvotto seaside complex now has a great new restaurant! In an elegant and modern setting overlooking the Mediterranean, Bistro Coe serves refined cuisine from breakfast to dinner. With chic decor and gourmet fare, there’s something to suit every appetite and palate, all to the relaxing sound of the Mediterranean waves lapping the shore.
Norma
Head up to the heights of Monaco and you’ll find Norma and its glorious Italian specialities. Located on the bustling Place d’Armes, Norma overlooks the Principality’s traditional outdoor market of La Condamine. With a large selection including pizzas, vitello tonato, lemon piccata, served in a chic and friendly atmosphere, Norma is the perfect blend of authentic cuisine and stunning views.
Le Quai des Artistes
Le Quai des Artistes is back with a brand-new look! (See image at top of story.) After several months of refurbishment, one of the Principality’s most iconic addresses is once again welcoming regulars and newcomers at Port Hercule, along Quai Antoine Ier. Serving generous food washed down with exceptional vintages, the institution has retained its core DNA in an elegant and sleek new decor. And as always, it’s all about the art. Beneath its arcades, the Monegasque institution continues to embody the convivial feel of traditional Parisian brasseries, blended with a dash of Mediterranean inspiration. And for delicious refreshments in a chic and cosy setting, Le Bar du Quai has a selection of cocktails, wines, and champagnes.
Muse
No, not one of the Greek goddesses, nor the British rock band, but rather the exclusive venue at the Méridien Beach Plaza! Muse is the luxury hotel’s new summer restaurant, with a new design and a new concept. Nestling beneath the pine trees and private beach, Muse is the ideal place to take a moment and savour the dolce vita. With a cocktail bar, a menu heavily inspired by local and Mediterranean cuisine, Sunday brunches, and DJ sets, it’s the place to be this summer!
Taera Monte-Carlo Pop-Up
An original pop-up eatery reopened in October 2023 in the Principality! Tucked into the terrace of the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo, Taera Monte-Carlo offers an innovative journey to the heart of Venezuela and a nostalgic nod to the flavors of Chef Victoria Vallenilla’s youth. Open for one year, Taera Monte-Carlo serves authentic and creative cuisine in an artistic, homespun setting designed by local talent.
