For seasoned travelers, navigating airport security can often feel like a test of patience and endurance. Long lines, cumbersome procedures, and the constant shuffle of documents and belongings can damper the passenger experience. However, there’s good news on the horizon for those weary of the security hassle. The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has joined forces with Clear to expand the TSA PreCheck program, offering a smoother, more efficient path through airport security. Travelers can get started by pre-enrolling here.
Since its inception in 2013, the TSA PreCheck program has provided more than 19 million passengers with expedited security screening, allowing vetted travelers to easily breeze through checkpoints. “The TSA PreCheck trusted traveler program enables vetted, low-risk travelers to move through security more efficiently,” says TSA Administrator David Pekoske.
Enroll for Clear and TSA PreCheck at These Airports
With the integration of Clear’s enrollment services at select airports, the process is becoming even more streamlined. Travelers can enroll or renew their TSA PreCheck membership at dedicated Clear airport enrollment pods at the below airports:
- Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR); daily from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET
- Orlando International Airport (MCO); daily from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET
- Sacramento International Airport (SMF); Sunday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. PT
“TSA PreCheck with enrollment by Clear provides a fast and efficient airport experience,” said Clear CEO Caryn Seidman-Becker in a statement. “This is a win-win for U.S. travelers who will have access to more enrollment locations, expanded hours, and other benefits.”
One of the standout benefits of TSA PreCheck is the ability for members to keep their shoes, belts, and light jackets on during screening, along with leaving laptops and 3-1-1 liquids in their carry-on bags, saving time and reducing the hassle of unpacking and repacking at security checkpoints.
Additionally, travelers can expect minimal delays with TSA’s wait time benchmarks for PreCheck lanes under 10 minutes.
Clear enhances this experience by expediting identity verification, allowing travelers to bypass the traditional ID check process.
With Clear Plus, there’s no need to fumble for wallets or IDs — passengers can get verified with a glance or a fingerprint scan. This seamless integration of technology and efficiency is revolutionizing the airport experience.
Renewal Made Easy
The partnership between TSA PreCheck and Clear brings convenience and accessibility to travelers nationwide. Enrollment and renewal services are available at select airports, including Orlando, Sacramento, and Newark.
For existing TSA PreCheck members, renewal is now simpler than ever. Most members can renew online with Clear, IDEMIA, or Telos, ensuring a seamless transition without additional paperwork or appointments. This streamlined process reflects TSA’s commitment to improving the travel experience for all passengers.
“Additional enrollment providers make it easier for the public to enroll and enjoy a seamless travel experience,” said Pekoske.
Furthermore, travelers can now sign up for both programs simultaneously, saving time and hassle.
This collaboration between TSA PreCheck and Clear has the potential to greatly improve the airport experience for all travelers. By leveraging Clear’s identity verification and TSA PreCheck’s expedited screening, passengers can expect a smoother security process.
