As Rosewood’s first venture into the Netherlands, this opening not only enriches the city’s cultural landscape but also represents the final hotel development permitted within a monumental building. This makes it an architectural landmark that promises to captivate both visitors and locals alike.

Rosewood Hotels operates 33 luxury properties across 21 countries, with an additional 27 locations currently under development. The new Rosewood property in Amsterdam embodies the brand’s “A Sense of Place” philosophy, celebrating the unique history and culture of its surroundings.

A Decade in the Making

After a decade-long restoration, Rosewood Amsterdam is now ready to welcome guests into a space that beautifully blends Dutch heritage with modern luxury.

Originally built in 1665, this historic landmark has undergone a meticulous transformation, embracing the principles of circular hospitality and sustainability.

The extensive renovation demonstrates a commitment to preserving history while providing a world-class hospitality experience, aligning with the brand’s renowned collection of hotels, which includes iconic properties such as The Carlyle in New York; Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek in Dallas; and Hôtel de Crillon in Paris, as well as newer classics like Rosewood Hong Kong.

Elegance and Heritage in Every Detail

The hotel will offer 134 thoughtfully designed guest rooms and suites, including five signature suites that provide panoramic views of the city’s beautiful canals and townhouse rooftops. Designed by the renowned Studio Piet Boon, the interiors honor the building’s heritage with a refined blend of traditional Dutch craftsmanship and contemporary sophistication.

The property will offer three distinctive restaurants and bars, including an in-house distillery. Embracing the Dutch concept of gezelligheid—a welcoming and cozy atmosphere—the hotel aims to enhance the local dining and social scene.

Guests can also experience Amsterdam’s canals aboard a private Salon Boat, styled by Studio Piet Boon, providing an elegant and scenic way to explore the city.

Dutch Culture On The Spot

Beyond luxury accommodations, the hotel promises a holistic cultural experience. Through curated programming, retail, and art, the property hopes to immerse its guests in a journey through Dutch history, art, and innovation.

“Our mission is to craft an experience where Amsterdam’s rich history and culture intertwine with Rosewood’s distinctive lifestyle,” said Thomas Harlander, Managing Director of Rosewood Amsterdam.
