Finnair is set to launch nonstop flights to Toronto next year, marking the airline’s first return to Canada in over a decade. Starting on May 4, 2026, the Finnish flag carrier will operate nonstop flights between Helsinki (HEL) and Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) three times a week.

This new service will run throughout the summer 2026 season and will conclude on August 29.

Finnair will operate the route using its Airbus A330-300 aircraft, which has a total capacity for 279 passengers across three cabins. This includes 28 ‘no-recline’ business class seats, 21 premium economy seats, and 230 standard economy seats.

Likewise, Canadians will benefit from Finnair’s extensive network throughout Europe and beyond.

Back in Canada

The Finnish airline previously operated Helsinki to Toronto flights, but the route was discontinued in 2015. Once it resumes next May, Toronto will become Finnair’s sixth North American destination, complementing existing services to Chicago (ORD), Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW), Los Angeles (LAX), New York (JFK), and Seattle (SEA).

“Canada is fast becoming one of the most popular long-haul destinations for European travelers, so we are confident that this route will prove a hit with both business and leisure travelers heading across the Atlantic.
