Fiji Airways has introduced a new range of ticketing options to give economy passengers greater choice and flexibility.

The new concept, branded as ‘Fly Your Way’, will officially launch for passengers in the U.S. and Canada on March 2, 2023, and it will then be extended to all passengers the following day.

The scheme will give customers an ampler choice over how they want to travel, with new fares introduced to offer this enhanced flexibility. Passengers flying in Economy class with Fiji Airways will be able to choose from four categories: Lite (LT), Value (VL), Comfort (CM), and Plus (PL).

The unbundled Economy class options offer an onboard meal with snacks and beverages, inflight entertainment, one carry-on bag weighing up to 7kg (15.4 pounds), and the ability to accrue frequent flyer points.

The Lite option represents the basic Economy fare with no added benefits. Still, passengers who choose the Value fare will be able to bring a checked bag weighing up to 30kg (66 pounds) at no extra cost, while they can also amend their travel dates or ticketing option for a fee.

Passengers who choose the Comfort fare will get everything that the Value option offers, a second checked bag weighing up to 30kg, the ability to cancel their flight for a fee, and the opportunity to select their desired seat.

Those who choose the comprehensive Plus option will get everything offered by the Comfort fare, along with greater flexibility options and the possibility of a full refund, as well as priority check-in, priority baggage drop, and priority boarding.

“Fly Your Way represents the best value for money for all guests whether traveling light for a weekend getaway, or bringing the whole family for an annual holiday,” said Andre Viljoen, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Fiji Airways. “Our customers have various needs when they travel whether for business or leisure, and with this new concept, we give them the ability to choose the product that best suits them.”

Viljoen added that Fiji Airways had conducted extensive global market research, and that he is certain the “different guest demographics will see the benefit in each of them.”

“The results of the market research showed what our different customers expect and value most when traveling and what they prefer more flexibility with, and that’s the approach we took when designing these categories,” Viljoen said.

Fiji Airways is the national flag carrier of Fiji, and its long-haul flights connect the Pacific island nation with up to 108 destinations across 16 countries. While the majority of Fiji’s tourists come from Australia or New Zealand, it’s also a popular destination for Americans, with Fiji Airways offering nonstop flights to Honolulu (HNL), Los Angeles (LAX), and San Francisco (SFO).

The ‘Fly Your Way’ ticketing options will be available to all passengers whether they book via Fiji Airways’ website or with a travel agent. Any economy tickets purchased before March 3 will be classified under the Value fare.
