American Airlines continues to improve its passenger experience package with two notable updates designed to enhance both ground and inflight journeys. Travelers can now sip on premium spirits from legendary names like Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg in the Admirals Club and Flagship lounges, while members of the airline’s frequent flyer program, AAdvantage, can enjoy the added perk of redeeming miles for snacks and drinks during their flights.
The airline has launched several initiatives aimed at enhancing its services both on the ground and in the air. These upgrades are part of a strategy to compete more effectively with its closest rivals, United and Delta.
Notably, Delta has recently announced that it will serve Taittinger champagne on every international Delta One flight, highlighting the premium perks both competitors provide.
Premium Spirits
Passengers passing through the airline’s Admirals Club and Flagship lounges can now enjoy a luxurious selection of spirits. Among the highlights are Still G.I.N. By Dre and Snoop and Horse Soldier Bourbon Whiskey, both providing distinct drinking experiences.

According to the airline, Still G.I.N. By Dre and Snoop, a premium spirit crafted by the iconic duo, boasts a modern, clean profile with hints of tangerine, jasmine, and coriander. Designed to pair with various mixers, American says this gin offers travelers a sophisticated sip with a dash of star power.

For bourbon enthusiasts, the airline is now offering Horse Soldier Bourbon Whiskey. Handcrafted in small batches and non-chill filtered, it delivers a rich, full-bodied experience. The bourbon’s story is as bold as its flavor, with its founders being former Green Berets who crafted this spirit as a tribute to resilience and excellence.
Miles for Mid-Air Snacks
In addition to the new premium liqueurs on the ground, the airline is offering a new inflight option for its travelers. With the goal of helping members maximize the value of their loyalty points, American now allows passengers to redeem their AAdvantage miles for a selection of premium snacks and beverages during their flight.

This creative option is available on all mainline American Airlines flights that cover more than 250 miles, allowing travelers to choose from a diverse menu, which includes gourmet snacks, refreshing drinks, and even premium liqueurs.
By utilizing their miles for these inflight treats instead of cash, passengers can enjoy added convenience and a more personalized travel experience.
The redemption process is seamless. Passengers simply ensure their AAdvantage number is linked to their reservation, then present their boarding pass to a flight attendant who will deduct the appropriate miles. While co-branded AAdvantage credit card holders usually enjoy a 25 percent discount on inflight purchases, this perk does not apply to mile redemptions.
Expanded Menu Choices
Alongside the introduction of inflight mile redemptions, American Airlines has rolled out new regional menu options for premium cabin passengers. Those on short-haul domestic flights over 900 miles can now savor options like sliders and fries, a crowd-pleaser that recently proved successful during its test run at Chicago O’Hare International Airport.

Breakfast offerings have also been enhanced with choices such as a white cheddar and Monterey Jack omelet and a smothered veggie and cheese frittata. For travelers preferring lighter fare, grab-and-go snacks like oatmeal bars, peanut butter dates, and caramel and cheese popcorn are now available.
The Verdict: A Step Toward Elevated Travel
American Airlines’ latest updates reflect a strong commitment to enhancing the passenger experience. With premium lounge guests now enjoying top-tier spirits, alongside increased flexibility for AAdvantage members in utilizing their miles, the airline is clearly prioritizing customer satisfaction. These enhancements, coupled with expanded inflight dining options, undoubtedly make traveling with American Airlines not just more enjoyable, but also a significantly more rewarding experience for all travelers.
