ROOM FACILITIES Guest rooms are bright with large windows facing the cityscape on either side although the choicest rooms are those facing the HOLLYWOOD sign in the hills and downtown Los Angeles. Carpeted floors still add area rugs for artistic flair, and all feature lounging sofas by the large windows. Plentiful power outlets are found by the desk and bedside, and loyalty program members can treat themselves to Kimpton’s famous Raid the Minibar credit worth $10. Another bonus for loyalty program members is free wireless Internet throughout the hotel. You’ll find incredibly comfy beds with a quartet of soft and firm pillows to help you slumber plus a thick duvet. I really loved the solid air conditioning system that actually responded when I really wanted cold air. Flat-screen cable TVs face the beds with a long range of cable channels. Closets are spacious with full-length mirrors tucked into the interior section of their doors. Atelier Bloem toiletries are the highlight of bathrooms, which feature spacious vanities (robes are in the closets) and high-power showerheads. Toiletries in the showers come from pump bottles (many travelers are not a fan despite their being eco-friendly) with incredibly scented products using lemon zest and ylang ylang. Spa quality at its finest. Suites add living space for those that want more stretch room.

RESTAURANTS AND BARS Jane Q is the main restaurant serving three meals a day starting with a sumptuous brunch that has lots of fans in the neighborhood. Happy hour is another big draw for its drink specials, artisan pizza from the brick oven, and sharing dishes. The lobby’s Ever Bar serves craft cocktails and local beer plus a variety of regional wines. Throughout the day, it fuels the coworking set in the lobby with strong coffee and refreshments.

LEISURE FACILITIES The fitness center features modern equipment, and the fifth floor pool and lounge area proves especially popular. Live music is offered on weekends.
