Boasting 460 rooms, this proudly contemporary behemoth is springing to life 38 floors above the fast-developing NoMad neighborhood. There are rooms to suit a range of budgets (plus extravagant suites for those looking to splurge on a trip to the city), meeting spaces, a huge gym, and Everdene: an urban oasis housing a restaurant, cocktail bar, and sprawling roof terrace peppered with pergolas. More rooftop fun awaits at The Pool Club, a hip poolside hangout perched atop the building and soundtracked by DJ sets, all available only to guests. Set in a “brutalist-style tower building” that also happens to be IBM’s former European headquarters, there are 198 rooms with an updated ’70s vibe, a rooftop terrace, and—crucially—tons of features for the working traveler. These include The Apartment (an events space that can accommodate meetings big and small in connectable rooms) and The Hoxton’s co-working space concept, Working From_, which already operates in the brand’s Chicago and south London hotels. Working From_ Brussels is spread over five floors and offers library desks, breakout spaces, wireless charging, daybeds, and desk-side delivery from the hotel restaurant to keep you well-fueled.

Reworking the idea of an aparthotel into something altogether more stylish has served Locke well, as proven by a spate of European openings planned for 2023 and 2024. Among them is East Side Gallery in Berlin’s ultra-hip Friedrichshain district, named after the neighboring open-air gallery (featuring the longest remaining section of the Berlin Wall, transformed with colorful street art). The area is a hotbed for creatives, who’ll surely appreciate the venue’s design-focused aesthetic. Upmarket hotel and spa brand Six Senses have luxury-leaning venues dotted around the globe, but the opening of a plush new spa-hotel in a former west London department store marks the brand’s UK debut. As with the company’s other accommodations, Six Senses London looks to be an elegant choice, spread over 110 rooms and suites. As you might expect from a spa brand, there’s a big emphasis on wellness, crowned by an extensive spa, complete with indoor pool, treatment rooms, bars, and co-working spaces. Those on longterm stays will appreciate the 24-hour concierge and housekeeping, and if you want to make your stay even longer-term, there are 14 one- and two-bedroom homes attached.
