Qatar Airways Restarts Atlanta Service
The Gulf carrier also announces increased frequencies, bringing to 83 the number of weekly flights to its US gateways
Qatar Airways is relaunching its service to Atlanta beginning June 1, as well as increasing its frequencies to other US gateways. The carrier’s four times weekly service to Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson will bring the carrier’s US network to 12 destinations.
The news comes as the airline gets set to resume its service to Seattle Jan. 29, with an initial frequency of four times weekly increasing to daily by July 1.
In addition, the airline has also announced increased frequencies on the following existing routes:
• Dallas-Fort Worth – increasing to ten weekly flights starting March 2
• Chicago – increasing to ten weekly flights starting March 4
• Houston – increasing to daily flights starting March 14
• San Francisco – increasing to daily flights by July 2
• Miami – increasing to three weekly flights starting July 3
Altogether, the enhanced schedule brings the total of Qatar Airways’ weekly flights to 83 serving 12 US destinations by the summer.
“With the upcoming launch of Seattle and the resumption of Atlanta, we will reach 12 gateways in the US, two more than what we operated pre-COVID-19,” Qatar Airways group chief executive Akbar Al Baker. “Our commitment to the US market has also seen us add and expand strategic partnerships with American carriers, offering our passengers hundreds of additional flight connections with Alaska Airlines, American Airlines and JetBlue.”
Earlier this month rival Gulf carrier Emirates also announced it would resume flights to Seattle, Dallas and San Francisco, joining existing US services to Boston, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, New York JFK, Toronto and Washington DC.
