Hotel Indigo Los Angeles Downtown Kicks Off “New Year, New Meetings” Program

New group offerings capture the resurgence of downtown LA at hotel infused unique urban design

Hotel Indigo Los Angeles Downtown, the boutique urban hotel located in the heart of downtown Los Angeles, is working with local purveyors in the surrounding neighborhood to debut a “New Year, New Meetings” program, echoing the resurgence of downtown Los Angeles.

From a Business & Brews and Hollywood Hatmaker experience to an immersive Live Like a Local experience; these new bookable offerings are in addition to the hotel’s workable 22,000 sq. ft. of meeting and event space and vibrant design that transports guests back to early 20th century Los Angeles, a period that shaped the downtown area into what it is today.

“We are thrilled to partner with local makers to further showcase the vibrant neighborhood and colorful history of downtown Los Angeles,” said Chris Lee, General Manager of Hotel Indigo Los Angeles Downtown. “We hope these new out-of-the box experiences will bring a fresh approach to our existing meeting offerings and create an unforgettable and original experience for all attendees.”

Hollywood Hatmaker

Inspired by the towering vintage hat display that is the ultimate eye-catcher in the hotel’s vibrant lobby, the property has joined forces with “Hollywood’s Hatmaker” and owner of Baron Hats, Mark Meija for an immersive experience that takes guests into the heart of downtown LA’s famed fashion district. Baron Hats has long been renowned as Hollywood’s most preeminent hat maker, where the history of the company goes back virtually to the beginning of Hollywood itself. The company has created over 35,000 hats for major motion pictures, television shows, Broadway hits, music videos, worldwide events, and more.

Groups and guests of Hotel Indigo Los Angeles will be guided on how to make their own custom hat in his downtown LA store and factory, while witnessing the intricate process of hats being made firsthand. In addition to the immersive experience, groups will enjoy a private tour of Mark’s store, where they will see some of the brand’s iconic pieces, including those worn by some of the most recognizable names in cherished Hollywood films.

Business & Brews

Who says business and pleasure do not mix? At the height of downtown Los Angeles’ craft beer revolution and in partnership with renowned Angel City Brewery, the hotel has created a one-of-a-kind business & brews breakout experience at this “canvas meets brewery” in the heart of the Los Angeles Arts District. For a much-needed disruption from a typical food and beverage reception, groups will have the option to visit this city staple for an exclusive tasting and guided art tour or, receive a visit from the brewmasters themselves in the comfort of one of the hotel’s versatile meetings spaces. A sample of the programming includes:

On-site at Angel City Brewery:

• VIP Tour & Tasting: Includes an overview of the brewery’s history and its 100+ year old building, an overview of brewing in Los Angeles, a walkthrough of the brewhouse and run down of the brewing process. The tour wraps up with a guided tasting of four Angel City Beers.

• Art Tour: Includes a guided tour of all the art at Angel City Brewery where groups will learn about the brewery’s relationship with Art Share LA, local artists and the history of the 100+ year old building, including the infamous pieces of art on the exterior. The tour will wrap up with a guided tasting of four Angel City beers.

Angel City on Location at Hotel Indigo:

• A Beer Talk with a Certified Cicerone: hosted in the comfort of one the hotel’s versatile meeting spaces, an Angel City brewmaster will lead groups through an educational experience to go over the brewing process, beer style history, tasting notes, and how to taste beer like a Certified Cicerone. Afterwards, groups will test their own Cicerone skills through a guided flight which will include a selection of some of the brewery’s best-selling beers.

Live Like a Local:

Going beyond the meeting room, attendees take it outdoors and see the city through the eyes of a local. Through a range of curated itineraries, the hotel’s unique “Live Like a Local” program will offer groups exclusive access to some of the city’s leading attractions including, VIP tickets to museums, behind-the-scenes offers at local restaurants and private tours of the diverse neighborhood haunts. The hotel can customize itineraries to meet group needs and interests, allowing guests to interact with people and businesses that help make up the LA story.

Hotel Indigo Los Angeles Downtown, a flagship property for the Hotel Indigo brand, has 350 guest rooms and suites, a lobby-level restaurant, Metropolis, and top floor cocktail lounge, 18 Social. The interior design pays homage to the early 20th century in Los Angeles with playful nods to historic Chinatown, Hollywood’s Golden Age, La Fiesta de las Flores (Downtown’s precursor to Pasadena’s now-famed Rose Parade), and the underground speakeasies of the Prohibition Era.
