Cambria’s 50th Opens on Disneyland’s Doorstep

The upscale hotel is the brand's largest and latest sign of success amid year of record-breaking openings

Cambria Hotels, an upscale brand franchised by Choice Hotels International, Inc. opened its 50th and largest property in Anaheim, California this month. The 12-story, 352-room Cambria Hotel & Suites Anaheim Resort Area sets a new record as the brand’s 11th location to open this year within Choice Hotels’ upscale expansion strategy.

“It’s been a phenomenal year for Cambria Hotels — in addition to expanding in city centers nationwide and achieving our 50th hotel milestone, growing its pipeline to one of the largest in North America,” said Janis Cannon, senior vice president, upscale brands, Choice Hotels. “The Cambria Hotel & Suites Anaheim Resort Area offers family-friendly amenities that befit its status as a neighbor to ‘the happiest place on Earth.’ We’re especially pleased that Cambria’s 50th hotel is also its largest as we bring Cambria Hotels to the most in-demand locations from coast to coast.”

The newly constructed property features numerous amenities, including:

• Family-friendly outdoor activities, including a 30,000-square-foot waterpark, outdoor movie wall, sport court, barbecue areas, fire pits, and a putting green.

• Versatile accommodations, from kid-friendly suites with bunk beds and two showers to accommodate families of all sizes, to guest rooms tailored to the sophisticated tastes of adults and business travelers.

• Immersive, spa-style bathrooms with Bluetooth mirrors.

• All-season indoor/outdoor bar overlooking the waterpark, offering food, local craft beer, wine, specialty cocktails and small bites.

• Daily hot breakfast included.

• Interior design that emphasizes ocean hues, corals and palms.

• State-of-the-art fitness center.

Located at 101 E Katella Ave., the Cambria hotel in Anaheim is just a few minutes from the main gate of Disneyland Resort. Guests can easily walk or drive to the classic Disneyland Park and the more recent Disney California Adventure Park, which draw over 28 million annual visitors and employ more than 30,000 people. The hotel is adjacent to several fast-casual dining options which are easy to dine-in or grab-and-go, including Starbucks, Habit Burger, Jersey Mike’s, Yogurtland, California Fish Grill, Luna Grill and Ono Hawaiian BBQ.

Hotel guests have convenient access to the Anaheim Convention Center, Angel Stadium of Anaheim, Honda Center and the American Sports Center, and can catch a train to downtown Los Angeles or Pacific coast beaches from the nearby Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center.

The Anaheim Convention Center completed its largest expansion in two decades in 2017.  The $190 million project brought an added 200,000 square feet for exhibits, ballroom events or meetings and made the Orange County facility the largest convention center on the West Coast with more than 1 million square feet of exhibit space.

The Cambria brand has achieved a record-breaking openings year and currently has 50 hotels open across the U.S. in such magnet cities as Chicago; Dallas; Houston; Los Angeles; Nashville, Tennessee; New York; Phoenix; and Washington, D.C.

Disneyland To-Dos

For those heading to Anaheim on business, a little Mouse House exploration may be in line whether on own or with family. 2020 brings new attractions, a new land, a new parade and new guest experiences throughout the resort. The year will kick off with the newest, and one of the most immersive attractions, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, launching in the new land of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Park on Jan.17. Also at Disneyland, the  “Magic Happens” parade debuts on Feb. 28 with multiple floats including one inspired by the blockbuster film, “Frozen 2,” and a “Moana” sequence that includes Moana on her voyager canoe, followed by her pet pig, Pua, and legendary demigod, Maui, on his own magical island.

At Disney California Adventure Park, Avengers Campus opens in 2020, inviting guests of all ages into a new land where they will sling webs on the first Disney ride-through attraction to feature Spider-Man. The immersive land also presents multiple heroic encounters with Avengers like Iron Man, Black Widow and Black Panther. Avengers Campus will also feature Pym Test Kitchen, where guests will taste supersized and supershrunk foods from Pym Technologies. Festivals return to this park in 2020 with the Lunar New Year celebration and the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival in the spring.

Guests may choose to download the official Disneyland App to purchase tickets and find useful information, including attraction wait times, FastPass return times, maps, entertainment guides and other special features such as Disney MaxPass. With the purchase of Disney MaxPass, guests are able to reserve digital Disney FastPass selections from their mobile devices while in the parks.
