Delta Air Lines has announced the reopening of seven of its Sky Clubs across the US this month, as it continues to add flights to its schedules. The newly opened lounges at Chicago O’Hare (E Concourse), Denver, Miami, Nashville, Orlando, Phoenix and San Francisco were shuttered at the onset of the coronavirus pandemic.
They join facilities which remained open throughout, including lounges at Atlanta, Boston, LAX, JFK and Washington DC.
Delta recently established a new Global Cleanliness division, dedicated to innovating and evolving cleanliness standards in response to COVID-19. Among the measure adopted by the carrier, a number of changes have been made to lounge operations, including:
Limited lounge capacity, with seats blocked off to promote more space
Designated seating areas for families traveling together
Mask-wearing requirements extended to Sky Clubs
Floor signage reminding guests to maintain extra space
Plexiglas partitions at check-in, at the bar and between café tables
Hand sanitizer dispensers near high-traffic and high-touch areas
Modified food service, with individually packaged food options including sandwiches, yogurt, fruit, muffins, pastries, salads, hummus and pita chips
Clubs being sanitized nightly with electrostatic spray
According to the airline, lounge shower services have been temporarily discontinued.
“From seating capacity to cleaning procedures to individually packaged food options and a modified bar experience, we’ve thought through and improved every touch point to ensure you feel safe and at ease during your Club visit,” said Claude Roussel, managing director, Delta Sky Club.
