Etihad Starts New COVID-19 PCR Testing
Airline mandates passengers show negative COVID-19 tests, both for flights to Abu Dhabi and for transfers
Starting on August 1, all passengers flying on Etihad Airways to Abu Dhabi, as well as those transferring at Abu Dhabi to ongoing flights must show a negative COVID-19 PCR test from a list of approved testing facilities found on etihad.com/destinationguide along with ICA approval if they are stopping in Abu Dhabi.
The test results must have been obtained within 96 hours before arrival in Abu Dhabi and a negative test result from a facility on the list must be shown in order to board. Children under 12 and passengers with mild to severe disabilities are exempt at present from the test requirement.
Transit passengers need to know that they will also be required to show a negative COVID-19 PCR test result 96 hours prior to departure to fly from Abu Dhabi to any country in the EU or the United Kingdom.
The airline stated that it was offering approved testing in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Dubai (for a fee) at Mediclinic facilities.
The airline says that passengers may be subject to additional PCR screening at Abu Dhabi International Airport.
